The 2018/19 Penguin Season begins in Argentina

Last September 15, 2018, began the Penguin Season in the Protected Natural Areas of Punta Tombo and Cabo Dos Bahías on the coasts of the Argentine Patagonia.

Both Reserves usually start receiving Magellanic penguins at the beginning of that month, but the opening of both areas is done when the species has already begun to settle in both areas.

Moreover, Punta Tombo will inaugurate on this season the extension of elevated trails, which will improve the circulation of penguins below and thus, strengthen the conservation of the area and at the same time, these catwalks will be more comfortable for the transit of tourists.

Its importance is due to the fact that it is the largest continental reserve of Magellanic penguins in the world.
