All companies with international flights from Aeroparque will be transferred to Ezeiza International Airport.
From 2018 the Jorge Newbery Airport (Aeroparque) will stop operating regional flights and will remain as an air base for internal flights only. The only exception is supposed to be Uruguay.
According to official sources, the resolution is already drafted and only some details are missing of its implementation. It also known that the measure is adopted with the purpose of providing the airport with a greater operational capacity to accommodate the new airlines that are expected to start operating shortly from this air station.
This change would affect the operations of Aerolineas Argentinas, Austral, Latam, Gol and Amaszonas, all companies that now operate international flights from Aeroparque will be transferred to Ezeiza International Airport.
The measure will allow the metropolitan airport to operate only internal routes and only regional coming/going from/to Uruguay. It is expected to be implemented in stages so that the airlines can carry out the reorganization.
