The best season to travel is during the summer in the southern hemisphere, which runs from mid – October to the end of March.

Between October and November, the ice banks begin to break and it is mating season for penguins and other birds.
In December and January, penguin eggs hatch and parents feed and nurture their young in the nursery areas.
During February and March, penguin hatchlings begin to develop their feathers, adults change plumage, and whales are easy to spot

During the austral summer, temperatures typically average at 0°C (32°F). It is important to dress in layers.
Begin with thermal underwear, then add warm mid-layers, and finish with windproof and waterproof outerwear. Put on a hat, a scarf, insulated gloves, and sunglasses that filter UV rays. Protect yourself with sunscreen, and choose waterproof knee-high boots. Take your essentials in a backpack that is waterproof.
