The Coast
May to December

Visit some of the country’s indigenous villages.
Between June and Sept, humpback whales
appear off the coast of Puerto López, ideal for boat trips.

Dress tips
Dressing smartly in Ecuador involves wearing lightweight woolens when you are in the highlands and wrapping yourself in cozy jackets during chilly high-altitude nights. If you find yourself in the Amazon, Pacific lowlands, or Galapagos, opt for cotton clothes instead.
