Colombia Yellow Fever Requirements

What Travel Professionals need to know

Yellow fever vaccination requirements for Colombia’s natural parks have changed. Get the essential updates on new health regulations affecting travelers visiting protected areas like Tayrona National Park.

Do you need a Yellow Fever Vaccine to travel to Colombia in 2025?

A yellow fever vaccine is not required to enter Colombia, but it is mandatory for travelers visiting certain natural parks in high-risk zones, such as Tayrona National Park.

Due to a controlled outbreak reported since September 2024, the Colombian Ministry of Health has implemented preventive health measures for access to protected areas.

Requirements for Travelers:

      • Get the yellow fever vaccine at least 10 days before visiting any protected area.

      • Carry an international vaccination certificate.

      • Check if the destination is in a high-risk zone.

      • Avoid travel to those areas if not vaccinated.

Key Points for Travel Professionals:

      • Booking stage: Confirm vaccination status and timing during initial consultation
      • Client communication: Include vaccination requirements in itinerary confirmations
      • Alternative planning: Prepare backup options for unvaccinated travelers
      • Documentation: Ensure clients understand certificate requirements
      • Cruise programs: Factor these requirements for pre/post Colombia programs
