Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants | List Has Just Been Revealed

The culinary magic of Latin America was unleashed at Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was the epicenter of this gastronomic celebration! On November 28, the vibrant “Maravillosa” city hosted the presentation of the list, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna. After successful events in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Peru, this was the first time the event was held in the Carioca nation.

The Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants – a branch of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants – are selected by a panel of more than 300 regional voting members. These are journalists, food critics and chefs who submit their top 10 dining experiences of the past year (at least three of which must be outside their respective home countries).

Charles Reed, CEO of event organizer William Reed, expressed his excitement: “We couldn’t have been more excited to bring the Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 ceremony to Brazil. The choice of Rio underscores the importance of Brazil as host and the city’s prominent position in the Latin American restaurant scene.”

The Copacabana Palace, an iconic venue in Rio, hosted the awards ceremony. The evening began with the arrival of the culinary representatives on the red carpet, followed by a welcome cocktail. In an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation, the list of the most outstanding culinary places in this part of the continent was revealed. Among the winners were eight Argentine restaurants.
