LATAM airline started its direct flight in July between the Peruvian cities of Cusco, the gateway to Machu Picchu, and Iquitos, the capital of the Peruvian Amazon, located near the Amazon River.
The route will have three weekly frequencies – Monday, Wednesday and Saturday – and will connect both cities without prior stopover in Lima, as was the case until now.
With Iquitos there are seven direct routes that LATAM offers from Cusco to other Peruvian cities, along with Lima, Arequipa, Juliaca, Puerto Maldonado, Trujillo and Pisco.
Finally, the airline also plans to open a direct flight between Santiago de Chile and Cusco in August 2018, as had already been announced a few months ago.
