New air connections in Argentina, Brazil and Chile
LATAM will start flying between San Pablo, Brazil, and the Falkland / Malvinas Islands (via Cordoba, Argentina) as of November 2019, adding a new connection between the islands and the American Continent.
Once a month, the flight will stop in Cordoba, and thus, this airport will become the second in the country to be connected to the Islands. LATAM Airlines already flies to that destination once a week from Santiago de Chile via Punta Arenas (Chile), and once a month from Santiago as well, but via Río Gallegos (Argentina) once a month.
The new route from San Pablo will keep LATAM as the only company dedicated to the commercial air activity from Latin America to the archipelago.
On the other hand, JetSMART will operate flights from Santiago de Chile to Puerto Natales (Chile) from December 2019 and will be operational during Summer (Southern Hemisphere), until March as a seasonal route to meet the high demand of that period.
It is worth mentioning that up to now this route was already operated by LATAM and Sky Airlines, also during the high season. Now, with the additional of this third airline, passengers arriving in the Chilean Patagonia will have more flight options.
