Welcome to the Odyssey of Amazing Cruises in the Southern South!
Our journey begins with Skorpios Cruises, which surprises us with the inauguration of a new route called Veliche. This addition is not only spectacular, but completes a series of options that allow Skorpios to offer cruises all year round. Unlike other cruises that only operate during the summer season, Skorpios invites you to explore Patagonia at any time of the year.
The new Veliche Route, whose name means “people of the south” in Mapudungun, pays homage to the ancient navigators who gave birth to the people of Chiloé. For decades, Chiloé has been the base for great expeditions to southern Chile and Patagonia. From the discovery of Laguna San Rafael to the conquest of the Strait of Magellan, the island has been the captain of the southern routes. Numerous Jesuit missionaries, who gave their lives for evangelization and colonization, gave birth to the iconic churches that today are part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
With the Veliche Route, Skorpios takes us to the islands of the Chiloé archipelago, offering tourists the opportunity to immerse themselves in the essence of the Chiloé people and their deep-rooted customs. A journey through time, exploring the traces of ancient navigators and the cultural heritage that has survived on the islands of Chiloé. Get ready to set sail on a voyage where history and nature intertwine in the new jewel of Skorpios, the Veliche Route!
