This year again rules the winter time in Chile, but not for everyone. The region of Magallanes will have for the first time different times.

This year the time change will take place between the night of Saturday May 13 and the first few seconds of the morning of Sunday 14. When the clocks mark the 00:00 hours of Sunday May 14, it will be necessary to delay one hour the clocks in Chile Continental to re-mark the 23 hours of Saturday 13. From that moment begins to start the winter timetable that will be maintained for 3 months.

In Easter Island, for the time difference of -2 hours, the change takes place at 22.00 hours on Saturday 13 May.

What happens in the region of Magallanes?

In the Magallanes and Antarctica region of Chile, the summer time will be kept, one hour ahead of the rest of the country.

The main cities of this region are: Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales, Torres del Paine and Tierra del Fuego Island.
