Sky Airline Peru gets permission
to fly on 34 national routes

The Chilean low-cost airline, Sky Airline, is just one step away from its entry into the Peruvian domestic market before Juna 2019

As the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) granted its subsidiary, Sky Peru, the commercial aviation operation permit of 34 national routes in Peru.

According to its plans, the company expects to start operations before June 2019, the first destinations from Lima would be: Cusco, Arequipa, Piura, Trujillo, Iquitos and Tarapoto. To date it has been managing its air operator certificate, which would allow it to operate and compete with Viva Air in the low cost market in the country.

Recently, the CEO of Sky Peru, José Raúl Vargas, said that, given its cost structure and the efficiencies of the new fleet, the airline will bet on offering passengers tickets with prices up to 40% lower than direct competition: Viva Air Peru.
